Sometimes... You just need someone to fill the jugs..

John 2:5-8 NKJV

His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it. ” Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it.

This wasn't Jesus' problem to fix.  Embarrassing as it was,  the bride and groom ended up falling short, and really, had no one to blame but themselves.  Jesus initially stated that it was not His time to intervene, but chose to enter the story.. Whether a bit of prompting from His Mum might've had an impact too!

... 'do whatever He says to do', says Mary.

The Creator of the Universe still needed servants to facilitate the miracle..  Not passive observers, they needed to fill the jugs.

Jesus didn't lecture the bride and groom about the errors of their ways. He didn't go away and have a prayer meeting. He didn't meet a different need..

They were out of wine.  He provided wine.  And not the cheap stuff as per expectation at that stage of the wedding.. Choice wine!

That was the miracle that was needed, and with the servants help, Jesus met that need.

What miracles are you helping to facilitate?
